Indicator Determination in Shipment Documents

Use

As part of the dangerous goods checks, indicators can be determined on the basis of which texts can be output in transport documents or transmitted via EDI within dangerous goods documents/EDI.

The following indicators are determined dynamically and not stored in the database:

  • Reportable Quantities

  • Listed Goods (§ 7 acc. to GGVS)

To determine the indicators, the dangerous goods checks are processed within the data determination for dangerous goods documents/EDI. The following special features apply with regard to the processing of dangerous goods checks.

Prerequisites

Customizing dangerous goods checks

You have defined indicator determination methods. For this, in Customizing for Dangerous Goods Checks, you have assigned the check method type (field PMArt) Indicator Determination Method to the relevant check methods in the activity Specify Dangerous Goods Check Methods.

Features

Special features in the program flow

  • Determination of the relevant document items

As part of the indicator determination, only such materials that are assigned a dangerous goods indicator profile in the material master and for which the Document-Relevant indicator is set will be checked.

    Note Note

You edit the required dangerous goods indicator profiles in the activity Specify Indicator Profiles for the Material Master in Customizing for Dangerous Goods Management.

    End of the note.
  • Determination of the relevant check methods

Within indicator determination, only check methods of the type Indicator Determination Method will be processed. When determining the relevant check methods, these are filtered out of the check schema and considered further.

  • Log/dialog box

Within indicator determination, no log is created and no dialog box is shown. As soon as an error occurs (for example, dangerous goods master record could not be determined), the dangerous goods checks are terminated and the error is processed by the dangerous goods documents/EDI.
